I have a very common name and I've not been delayed on a 4473 thankfully. My CCW license though.... took them 3 xtra weeks to figure out I was not the guy in a different town that had a restraining order against him back in '99. Same first, last and middle initial, but middle name was different. This coming from an agency that is there to investigate.... gubberment work at its finest.

First of all, congratulations on both firearms.

Second, my first name (not the "Terry") is almost as common as my last name, but I've never been delayed even with a name shared with probably thousands of people. Maybe it would be a blessing if I were to be delayed?
I even googled my name, and I'm it.
I kind of know why this may have haunted me over the years. In the 80's wife and I went on our first trip to Cozumel together and my pocket got picked losing a ton of money and all of my CC and ID's.
It's a long story I have posted before on OSA but someone with my license was involved in a felony hit and run in Florida a year or so after the theft. Wallet left in the vehicle with my ID in it, but the wrong pic and I was at work that day. My lawyer had to sort it out.
I suspect one agency has that on record, and another agency flags it when a gun is purchased.
For the record the FFL called tonight and said he hasn't heard anything and I can pick them up Thursday morning if he doesn't get anything negative from them, which he won't.
I always get delayed, but it's usually just for less than an hour and then it goes through. Don't know what's different this time.
