I just have a 6" belt sander/disk combo....I didn't know they offered 3000 grit. I've got some 600. May have to do a little research to see if mine can get those belts.
Norton Norax is the brand and model. They have a funny number system that represents grit on that line of belts. I think it's like 18x, 45x, 65x and blah blah blah. Anyhow one place I ordered belts from had em listed by grit too. I took a daggum sharpie and marked the inside of the belt. A couple of other manufacturers use the same system. I guess it's like standard vs metric. Atleast they are different colors. The 3000 is white and the 1200 is gray and I think the 600 is brown then the 220 is tan I think. Those are the 4 norax belts I have. Then I've got several others. The norton blaze ceramic belts are orange. The norton bluefires are blue. Then there are different grits in each model. I've got a 3m trizact structured abrasive that is a really nice belt. It translates to 220grit. Those structured abrasives run cooler.

Nice job! Use wrap arounds to mark the lines?

No wrap arounds used.. I determined where the pipe should be and eye balled plumb and cut, hopefully my legs are strait.. Have to go EASY until the blade makes a seat then add more force.. At a 45 cut off about 3/4", very little grinding providing each was equal so that it was square in the saddle, if not grinding the mouth of the high side fixed that.. Done on my hands and knees in a rocky carport as we have no shop or garage at present.. And with a POS harbor freight saw, NO more harbor freight for this guy..

The misses dosen't ask for much. She hated the old house numbers on our house. So I removed the old ones and I made her a new one that matched the plant hanger a friend made for us when we moved in. I used cedar I had left over from house repairs and some stain left over from another project. She likes it so I am happy.

You fellas are mighty inventive and make some great things that are useful! Unfortunately, I don't weld although I have always wanted to be able to have that skill. All I've done is make a ammo box full of sinkers so full I can't life it and a couple of weather vanes. I remember when I was a kid I had this 8 HP Briggs and Stratton engine and there was this old Crosley down the road I wanted to put engine in but I knew no one that could weld. Now on Youtube I see that some whippersnappers put a Harbor Freight engine into a car and it runs. Amazes mew.

They are using the 22 HP harbor freight engines now on mini airboats with great success. There is a whole sub community out there that can't afford a $50,000 airboat, but can a afford a $750 engine, flat bottom boat, prop and some ingenuity.
I'm seriously thinking about this system.
