Hmmmm???

Commercials that promote solidarity with special interest groups; unwholesome, degenerate, and culturally destructive societal trends, are strategically intended to inure the public to these offensive processes and to eliminate resistance to imposed social changes that would force citizens to comply with unjust and irrational legislation, fund accommodations in public facilities and the military, and weaken our nation’s culture by the intentional emasculation and disempowerment of men in our society.....you aren’t going to enlist or draft many soldiers or marines when half of our young men are wearing dresses and the rest are dating them. I’d love to hear what my Drill Instructor would have said if he saw the sissified crap that goes on today.

Again, slippery slope fallacies aside, I have a REALLY tough time believing that the type of personality that will enlist would be swayed by ANYTHING Gillette puts in a commercial.

No, they are not. They all have the same effect of causing us to fall short of God's perfection, but that does not mean they are equal or the same in terms of how bad they are. Depending on the sin, they can vary in the damage they cause or how far they push one from God. Look at Cain and Abel. If Cain had lied about something that morning, it wouldn't even be in the same league as murdering his brother, would it? This is how it is with sin, the worse it is, usually the worse its effects. That isn't to say that lying is without its trouble, because it usually grows into something larger or comes back one too.

For one thing, the bible does say that sexual sin is more serious. On the level of society, Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed over it. Its effect, like all sin, is damage and destruction. Look at what has happened to our country in the past 50 years. Dad's are teaching their little girls they can be young men and it is heartwarming! We have like 73+ so called genders.

I don't deny there is an element of hypocrisy in it. It is easy for people who aren't homosexuals in sexual sin to think they are lily white. If they are guilty of another sexual sin like stealing another man's wife, they have committed a serious sin as well.

Just curious and I ask this of a lot of "christians"..... why do you believe you are an authority on "god's" word? Because the spectrum of justifications and beliefs are wide and it's difficult to pinpoint who to believe what the actual message is and apply it to current day problems. Just curious.

homosexuality itself isn’t sin any more than heterosexual temptation is sin.

Temptation is never sin. Proof: Jesus was tempted, and yet did not sin.

Even homosexual temptation is not sin unless the person gives in in their mind and decides they will do it. At that moment they have failed the temptation, and have sinned in their heart irregardless of whether the actual sin in the real comes true or not.

I only know what I know, and I've only read what I've read. I am not perfect and I am sometimes wrong. I encourage anyone to read for themselves and decide for themselves. I can certainly disagree with others and they can disagree with me.

I actually agree with you here. I often see Christians teaching something that the bible itself specifically and clearly teaches otherwise. Again, I encourage anyone to open up the bible and see what it says for themselves. There are a lot of things like "all sins are the same" that people say that as Ethan suggested above, are merely incorrect notions that have no actual place in scripture and scripture never teaches...

I have a female aquaintence who recently told me she was a lesbian. She told me a man's penis grosses her out and a woman's nether regions turns her on...
Then I realized, holy crap, I'mma lesbian!
I'm seeing a therapist next week.
As a man speaketh with his mouth, so is he. It's not what goes into a man's mouth that defiles but what comes out. We don't need dirty talk on here. We love you Clay, but clean it up.

Yeah…I think you missed my point, because you just reiterated it. Either that or you’re just adding to it in agreement.

That’s a good question, but it’s not very relevant. When considering the entirety of the Bible, it cannot concluded in good faith that homosexual acts are not sinful (assuming a belief, as the Bible teaches, that the Bible is true and God doesn’t change). The Bible is so unequivocal about this issue that any other conclusion is clear evidence that someone has an ulterior motive and is a false teacher.

Of course there was a time when being born with an X and a Y chromosome and a penis meant you were male. So if we’re basing things on the post-modern concept of “truth” you could say the Bible says homosexuality is good and cisgenderism is sin. But that wouldn’t make it truth. Let’s just stick to reality.

chances are your DI encountered a person or two who was gay, or maybe even liked to wear dresses. Whether the DI knew this, or not, is unclear.

As for the rest of it, well change is never easy and there are always some who resist. There was a time when captain kirk kissing lieutenant uhura was considered borderline scandalous to the point where NBC executives, worried about the response, ordered two versions of the scene be shot. One with and one without a kiss.

Now days we wouldn't even bat an eye, though i do know a mixed race family here in town who have had a good ol' boy or two try to lecture them about the mixing of the races, so maybe things are moving fast enough.
