I once had a very good experience with Lewis RV.

I'll agree with this post as well. We've dealt with Lewis RV for 3 different RV's and have been very pleased with their knowledge and service. I recommend that if you go, ask for Artie Fenimore. He knows his stuff, plus he will look at what you have for a tow vehicle and let you know if it is insufficient for the size of TT (Travel Trailer) that you are looking to buy.

In fact, the RV that the wife and I currently live in was purchased through Artie at Lewis RV. I suggest going into whatever dealership you want to look at and have an idea of how it is that you want to use the RV. A good salesman will then ask questions and recommend features that would benefit you. Who knows, they might even be able to show that another type of RV would better benefit you.

In our case, we had bought a 26-foot travel trailer, but in exiting a highway onto a forest service road, I didn't consider the angle of the dropoff from the highway and drug my rear steps on the edge of the highway shoulder. Fifth wheels tend to sit a bit higher and would have seen me have a better outcome with that issue.

I bought my 5th wheel from Camping World and had a good experience. The horror stories begin when maintenance / repairs are needed. I won’t use a dealer for repair now that I found Kjelshus R V Service Center in OKC. You aren’t required to drop off the RV and wait weeks to get it repaired. Kjelshus sets an appointment and you drop it off on the day they are ready to start on it. They are honest and nice people.

OKCHunter is right. While "buying" at Camping World might be OK, having them do any service work is VERY questionable. They tend to pay low wages, get brand new mechanics, and after they get some experience, the mechanics go elsewhere.

Also, ask around for RV repair people that will come to one's site and do the repairs. At present, we have a scheduled appointment for a mobile tech to come out and replace the two axles we have on our RV, all at our site with no need to take the RV anywhere.
