I have a favor to ask for a friend. They have a restaurant and 3 days ago were told they would have their lease terminated effective June 1st and have to have everything moved out by June 2nd. I know that on residential a landlord has to give minimum 30 days notice. Anyone have info on commercial?

These are good people and a lot of shady stuff had been done and the landlord is trying to force them to pay repairs to bring the place up to code which is bull to me as well. They have put a lot into this place and are effectively being put out overnight. They have helped me a ton to get through since my wife passed and seeing this happen really hurts me.

The lease is expiring but they have been in discussion on extending it. But either way it should require a 30 day notice from either side as fast ad I understand it. The people who own it are basically commercial slum lords. There have been issues but they refuse to fix them. Now I have to assume the city or someone else it's forcing repairs to be made and they are trying to force the tenant to make the repairs that were already needed before that point. It's a big messed up deal but they are just going to get out. I ask in Edmond right now to pick up some movers dollies and stuff to help them move what i can with my truck. I guess every place they called about for a moving truck rental is booked already.

Just an update for those who may be interested. They had pretty much everything but the bathroom sinks out when I left and they were working on the vent hood. I was actually surprised how much they were able to get out. A good portion of it went to other Chinese restaurants and I have no idea what kind of deal was made I was mainly helping to move things for them to their place and helping pick a few things up so they were cleaned up. I left them a couple movers dollies and helped with a few other things here and there but cut out around 4:00 after sitting or standing around for most of today. I am just glad they were able to clear out as much as they could and hopefully they didn't get bent over a barrel on stuff.
