Hey everyone,
Just for s&g`s let's say that you were chosen to rewrite the Constitution. What would you do? Aside from the bill of rights and term limits for all elected officials what would you change? What ideas would you have to make things better for our fellow citizens and future generations?

Severely limit the size and power of the Federal government. Like, make it very straightforward and clear areas the Feds should NOT be allowed to get involved in. Education, intrastate commerce, etc.
The Constitution already does that; they just find loopholes (see "the elastic clause") or blatantly ignore it.

I'd start by prohibiting regulations. Most Federal law is the result of Congress passing "enabling statutes," leaving the details to the executive branch agencies that write the regulations. I'd prohibit that; if it's important enough to be federal law, it's important enough for Congress to do the whole damn job.

Likewise, I'd put a sunset clause on every federal statute. If it's important enough, they can get it reauthorized periodically.

No outside agency, individual or entity will be seated within the congress if they hold allegiance to a foreign government or a law or laws that are contrary to the laws of this nation or if they encourage insurrection or sedation from any party or parties within and without the United States. Nor will any President or individual within congress solicit funds nor accept funds from any foreign government or agency or any groups that are subversive and desire to overthrow the government of the United States. Additionally, any individual within congress that encourages or attempts to overthrow or undermine the efforts of a sitting President in the honest and just performance of his duties for the betterment of the country shall be subject to immediate dismissal with prejudice from the House of Congress of the United States. Moreover, any funding from the Treasury of the United States be transferred in any form at any time to any foreign government or entity solely at the discretion of the President of the United States shall not occur without the express approval and written authorization of the Congress of the United States. Each elected congressman shall serve a term of not more than three terms before a duly elected individual/representative shall take their place.

I’d keep it the same. Only thing I’d put in the new one at the moment is it would be easier to execute treasonous politicians in an expedited manner. And on second thoughts I’d reinstate the no voting if not a land owner. Also make it were they couldn’t tax income or property again.

I'd make the 2nd amendment cut and dry and set in stone. The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

But...but...the Government will take care of you!

All good. Had several of the same ideas myself. On the Second I would change a few words to make it absolutely clear to even the most intellectually challenged paint chip eating politicians what it means. This:

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

To this:

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the individual citizen to keep and bear all matter of individual Arms, shall not be infringed. Any attempt by any government official be it Federal, State, County, City, or other municipality within the jurisdiction of the United States of America shall be an act of subversion and if in time of civil unrest or war an act of treason. Upon conviction of said individual for either offense their life and all forms of property shall be forfeited immediately."

Any citizen who commits an act of unlawful violence while armed shall be imprisoned for no less than five years hard labor for the first offense. Any subsequent conviction shall double the sentence of the individual and create a lifetime prohibition of the right to own, use, or bear any weapon.

Any citizen who has been adjudicated by a court of law as being a danger to themselves or others due to mental illness shall have their right to own, use, or, bear any weapon suspended.

Any citizen who has been convicted of a crime of domestic violence shall be prohibited from using, owning, or otherwise possessing individual firearms.

Any citizen who has been convicted of a non violent felony crime shall have their right to own, use, or possess any weapon while under sentence for first conviction. This prohibition becomes permanent upon second conviction.

Any non citizen who has been convicted of a felony crime of violence shall be sentenced to five years hard labor and deported upon completion of sentence.

And I would add this clause to the Constitution as well.
The bill of rights may not be themselves amended once ratified.

I agree that if a person is in an apartment and doesn't own land they shouldn't be allowed to vote. they don't pay property taxes nor home owner's insurance and when they "vote they vote like a politician"-what's in it for me. Politicians pass laws and if it is good for them they give it a yea vote regardless of what the voters want and need. Take Agent Orange for instance... Someone was going to ok Monsanto and Agent Orange and some in congress knew about the decision so they invested money into this chemical that destroyed forests so the enemy couldn't hide so easily. Oh yeah, it creased a lot of diseases that are showing up today but the politicians have since retired and have no remorse or guilt feelings.
