Currently 135 gr GDHP .357 short bbl in my carry gun, but I'm still testing as I only recently returned to a revolver edc after a 25 year hiatus. I prefer .357 in a magnum instead of 38+P but there are very little options for a smaller frame .357 3" bbl. load light enough to be effective in a sd situation. Suggestions welcome.

Anybody ever shoot the Sig V Crown ammo? I've thought about trying it, and Academy has it on sale right now. The 124-grain 9mm box of 20 for $9.99.

I have. It shot fine from my Sig M11A1. I mean, it feeds and functions correctly. I haven't shot anybody with it though, so I really can't attest to it's ability to do the job as far as that's concerned. If I do, I'll get back to you on the results.

I appreciate it. But, ballistic gelatin should give a reasonable approximation if you ever happen to try that.

Gel doesn’t have bones and phones and stuff in pockets and such, but yeah, I guess I could give that a try. Or, one could rely on the reviews of those who have shot large blocks of yellow jello with it, Most of which pretty much declares this ammo sub-par; a poor penetrator most say. It’s probably fine for the spray and pray crowd, but for the Precision marksmen of OSA... perhaps there are better choices.

Appreciate it. I've got Gold Dots. Might have to try the HST's.

Both solid choices. Well, they aren't actually solid, like an FMJ is solid, since they are hollowpoints, but they are good choices anyway. The Gold Dots and HST's, I mean, not the FMJ. But then again, if FMJ is all your gun eats well, then it's a solid choice with a solid bullet. The gun, on the other, hand may be somewhat suspect. Having said that, I did have a SIG P239 I tried and tried to love but the thing would choke and gag on FMJ sometimes. Go figure; that was not a solid choice. Now my Sig M11A1, now that gun is a very solid choice. I think I have Gold Dots in it right now but they might be HST's...I can't remember if I changed the ammo out on that gun or not. At least I'm sure it isn't loaded with FMJ, that would not be a solid choice. Unless...well, you know.
