They are going to have one of these at Murfs in July and the browning rep will be there. That is the guy I want to talk to about one of their new shotguns. The week before H&H will be having factory reps from all the brands I am interested in and in the past that has been the best I have been to.

People were parking on the shoulder of the highway.I just drove on by.I don't think they realized how much it helped Murfs shooting range today.

We got there early. Really early. Sat on the shoulder waiting on the gates to open for an hour. Glad we got in early. Made it through the very compact event (six tables). OK2A was there. Ruger, Remington, and Glock dudes were cool. We all had a chuckle when the poor Taurus dude was practically begging people to handle their demos. He had the toughest job there.

They were shooting demos in the range forty feet to the left. It was loud. Got the goodie bag, got out, and went straight to Murfs lol. They did a fantastic job advertising it though. The marketing had us thinking it would be worthwhile. It was a typical hoard of wafting BO and people with their hands out. Props to the range for not having a scentsy booth though. Nice people.

Thanks for the report, most of the people I talked to were pretty disappointed. One guy said he stood in line for 45 minutes and walked through the area where the gun reps were in 5 or 6 minutes. He told me next time he will just drive to H&H and at least get to be in air conditioning while looking at the guns.

I enjoyed it. I waited for the crowd to drop down a bit and arrived about 10:15. I was able to easily park in the overflow parking lot they created to the east of the entrance. (There were still 40+ cars parked on the highway shoulder). Plenty of swag bags were left when I got there. I got to spend quite a bit of time talking with friends from the area and several from the OKC metro that made the trip.

Dropped of my complimentary ticket for the doorprize drawing. Bought a gun which resulted in tickets for an additional drawing and even purchased a couple of tickets for yet another.

I took a break for lunch with friends and even stopped in Murf’s to browse around a bit before I went back.

I handled a few of the Hawke scopes. I was impressed with some of the turrets and reticle selection. I was familiar with the brand but never had my hands on one.

Rise Armament from Broken Arrow was there. I think I might try one if their triggers in one of my PCCs after a bit more research. I’ve never owned a drop-in cassette trigger before, as I primarily use Geissele. They also had a nice looking fluted AR barrel they profiled on a White Oak blank.

My first hands on with a Mossberg MC1 9mm Pistol. It has a very unique take down method I’ve never seen. Lock it open, remove the rear plate, remover the striker, and the slide can be released and removed.

Ruger had the rail version 9mm PCC on display. I like it, and the sights on it.

Remington’s V3 TAC 13 was on display. I guess I had not even noticed the release of it. Basically a semi auto “shockwave” style shotgun.

Texas Silencer company had a Titanium .308 suppressor that caught my attention.

I really enjoyed it, and mare so on the afternoon when everything settled down some.

I left shortly before the drawings and later found out I even won a gun. Great bonus on an already great day.

The Stewart’s are good people and have built this up over the last couple of years. I’m glad for them and wish them great best.
