My 3 scopes I am looking to buy.

I was liking the Bushnell 3-9 over there today. Actually liked the Sight Mark better, but I have never seen or heard any reviews on them. But, they have lots of them and the nice looking ladies were out in force so it was hard to look at them without feeling like a creeper.

I would suggest the Nikon rimfire. I recently picked one up from cabelas for 99. They are clear, have a great warranty and my favorite thing about them is the bullet drop compensator. Why? Because they have a spot on website and it has done the work for you on most if not all the different ammo. Now just to own a firearm to put it on.

Thought I would come back and give a update. From ALOT of reading on other forums and articles on scopes, moa, setting parallax. I finally had it narrowed to 3, nikon rimfire prostaff, bushnell trophy and vortex crossfire 2 which alot of people were fond of. I did get my sales bonus a cool 200 bucks, so I set a give or take limit of about 150. checked out acadmey website and they had some sales going on, vortex was one of them. So I stopped in today talked to a older gentleman behind the counter, I told him my 3 choices he said drop the bushnell, told me nikon makes great scopes and vortex is great as well, didn't really have the prostaff but some nikon tactical for 200, told them no not that high or nice, had him pull out the nikon buckmasters, looked through it fell in love crystal clear even on magnification was clear as a bell nad listed at 129, not a bad deal. I had him pull out the vortex don't think it was the crossfire. I looked through it, was nice but didn't get that wow factor like the nikon, plus the vortex was 149 if its the one on web it would have been 139 not much of a sale. I thought for a bit asked some questions, doesn't come rings, is there some I can make it to use the iron sights as well, told me for my marlin m60 don't think there is, other than pickny rail my gun is not drilled and tapped and don't plan on it either.

So after thinking, I pulled the trigger(no pun intended) and got the nikon buckmasters. Got up figuring looking about 140 total they ring me up to my surprise its 99 bucks, I thought now thats a deal. Just to find rings for it to fit so it sits high enough to clear the rear sight.

That's a good deal. 2A had them for $99 for a while but I think they are out, I have never seen them for less than that. You can usually find them for about $129.

Aries I am pretty stoked, been I guess playing with it, looking out into the pasture zooming in, waited till I got close to dark about 9 went out to see how clear it would be in low light and pleased could still see pretty clear, over this cheap tasco I had once sun went away a little bit it was lost hard to see and blurry unless had fun sun was aggravating to say the least, cheap tasco was good to start out or maybe for a bb/pellet is the high point of those.

Yeah, I think they are decent little scopes for the price. That is Nikon's "entry level", or budget priced scope, and as far as I know the cheapest one they sell. But personally I'd much rather have one of those than Simmons, BSA, or some of the cheap Bushnell's (although I think they have some higher end scopes too). Vortex is great too, but if you liked the Nikon better, and it was a better price, I'd say you win! I don't think you'll regret spending a little more, it should serve you well.

No dovetail, guy at counter said to get the scope up high enough to use iron sights as back up would be to use a picatinny rail but mine is not drilled and tapped and don't plan on it. I checked academy site they have a good set of high rise rings for 20 bucks that I liked the look of that may work will have to check into it.

From what I have heard nikon has good warranty on their stuff and make good scopes, they use to be the go to for camera's, I really like this one over vortex and think it will serve its purpose for what I want and is alot better than what I had, so will run with it and was with in budget of what I could spend, plus for being a 22 don't need a or want a 300 dollar scope, now if it was a high end hunting rifle and wanted food on the table then use would spend the hundreds on a really good scope, I wanted something a little better clearer and that would last for what I would do with it, this nikon shoudl serve me well.

Thats awesome, I have a set of picatinny rings I would have given you to get that dude mounted. Looks like the dovetail rings can be found pretty cheap!
