I have all sorts of tools still have the socket set I bought from sears long ago for when I went to school to be a auto tech. Over the years I have collected numerous screwdrivers I like to loose those alot, a few tape measures, lots and lots of wrenches, small bits to run in a drill corded and cordless, circular saw, saws all, table saw, miter saw, a belt/disc sander, palm sander, a few hammers, router/table, vise, BFH, air compressor and needed tools to go with it, jacks, jack stands two pairs nice to have 4 of them when needed, punches, chisels metal and wood, hand saws, hack saws, squares. List goes on, most is either hand me downs, bought used garage sales are killer deals for tools, table saw I got from craigslist 55 bucks, my disc/belt sander list for 300 got it for 20 bucks, harborfreight for things I tend to break or loose since its cheaper to replace them that way.

I will never forget the first time I saw one of these signs at my buddies house. It was on his bothers tool box.

I still remember the first time I walked into a snap on truck. I heard angels sing and then before I new it I was broke. I will loan tools to very specific people. I may ask for your drivers license and a credit card though.

I thought you were going to mention the Snap-on Calendars..........................

Over 40 some years in the industrial maintenance business, we all had to supply all of our own hand and power tools up to the 3/4" drive stuff and then the company took over. The first year, all of my home tools went to work but they allowed us a tool account of up to $1000 a year to buy personal work tools, so always ordered one for work and one for home. Now that I'm retired, there are two huge multi level tool boxes packed full of pneumatic, electric, battery and hand tools. There might be 6 hammers in one of them. Ball Peen, Claw, Lead, plastic dead blow, Brass, and a 3lb. Peg boards in two shops covered in other tools. Three lathes, and all the tooling with them. Gonna be a heck of a tool sale when I croak.

A bunch of checked out video game kids who just came for the party...oh wait, that's what they said about Generation X.

Nothing but a bunch of privileged kids who disrespect tradition...nope, that was what they said about the Baby Boomers.

I generally find all this "Mah, generation is better than yours" crap, just that, a bunch of crap.

I work with boomers, Xers (I am one), and millennials. They're all just people and most of them are completely different from their generation's stereotype.

https://nypost.com/2019/06/06/millennial-dads-have-pathetic-diy-skills-compared-to-baby-boomers/

From article --Many millennial dads reported not owning a cordless drill (46%), a stepladder (49%), a set of screwdrivers (38%) or even a hammer (32 percent) — an item owned by 93% of boomer dads.

Who the hell is keeping Lowes and Home Depot in Business? All the handy men and pros?

This makes me feel sad for every one of these guys little boys and girls.

The result is from single parent families, millennial or other.. Single mom can't pull off teaching man's skills.. Then add the techno gadgets they value so much and it stands to reason why they don't have a working mans skill set..

My Dad had more tools than me. I have more than my son does. He will get all of mine. Remember my Dad getting mad when the neighbor would come over to borrow some tools. Dad had a girly calendar in the garage.
