We had an issue with a serpentine belt splitting. In fact, it happened with two or three different belts. Took the Expedition to a Ford dealer and they found a very small piece of rock embedded in the grooves of one of the idler pulleys. When the belts were changed, no one ever noticed the rock, so it kept destroying belts.

Old belt was in good condition and I changed the tensioner the new belt was making an old squeaking noise but it seemed to be just at certain times so figured the back side where the label was or maybe just because or was brand new. Old belt is back on and if it lasts more than 50 miles the new belt had a defect. And I should say the new belt literally exploded. Will get a picture later on when I am out of here.

Beautiful day. Lovely bride and I just had “heart scans” at Advanced Body Scan. Worth having, but it is like a time share presentation. Scan takes about five minutes and the sales pitch was about 90 minutes. Anyway it’s done and now off to lunch somewhere. Life is good ( I heard that somewhere)

It's probably fine as we disinfected the well, but can't test it for 6 days after that. I went a little overboard on the bleach into the well so that extended our waiting period. We have a whole lot more white clothes now for the summer season as a side benefit.

I had a old supervisor tell us this one, didn't believe it as some of his stories were just that. How much do you put in it and what does do exactly?

Had a 300+ft well drilled on our farm back in the '90s.

The guy told us we could pull a sample, send it to the local Ag extension office, wait a week or two for the results, and then they'd tell us to pour a cup of bleach down the casing.

Or... we could just pour a cup of bleach down the casing every 2-3 months and forget about testing.

ah ok super told us pour a gallon, run water in all faucets till smell bleach let it sit over night then flush it out next day, I thought was little much and he was just blowing smoke up butts. So far the well water my MIL is on taste fine no ill effects so I take its ok other then the nasty build, like in the 2 year old HW heater already has a thick layer in the bottom of it and blew a element out already.

According to the DEQ, with a well casing of 6", put 6 oz of bleach into the casing with our shallow well, then run a hose from the pump back into the well to recirculate the mix for a couple of hours.
Run the well to the house opening one faucet at a time until the bleach smell comes through, and then move to the next faucet and repeat until all faucets have bleach smell. Let set for a minimum of 2 hours, then open the faucets and let them run until the bleach smell goes away.
Since ours was so contaminated by being underwater for 6 days, I put in one gallon one day and another gallon the next day then circulated.
Got the smell at the faucets and let them sit overnight. Then I used the outside hydrant to flush the line that is 3/10 mile long. We have a septic system so that much bleach into it would have killed all the microbes and bacteria that make the septic system percolate.
My comment about having a lot of new white clothes was a joke. We didn't wash anything until the chlorine bleach smell left the faucets.
