Our youngest son has suffered from allergies for years, and a few years ago, he was coughing so hard he broke some ribs. Complications led to him being operated on to reinflate the lower part of one lung, and in that process, they broke a rib in the back. Just last July, they went in again and "plated" together that back rib.
