Easements

I have an easement across the from of my property for a highway (4 originally I think, then Route 66), it's now just a city street.
I have a horseshoe drives way with about the last 30' on each end being across the easement.
The asphalt on the end needs some TLC.
I'm going to see if the city will help out, do y'all think it will work?

Nope

If it doesn't affect anything the city deals with they won't help at all. Easement is there for their use not yours.

Nope they tell you thats a driveway apron and you are 100% on your own for replacement at of course the cost of permits and inspections along the way.

HA HA HA! You never know. The city tore up the drive between the street and the sidewalk at one of my houses and said they would be back to fix it. That was 17 years ago. Two months ago they finally came back and fixed it and whatever idiot was in charge should be slapped upside the head. They made the thing so narrow my pickups tires hit both turnouts of the curb at the same time.
Which reminds me to call the mayor's action line and complain. Maybe they will fix it in the next 10 or 20 years!

This... The Kay County Commissioner for my parents district always insists there's not enough money to fill their massive potholes until election year. Then potholes magically get filled and he makes sure everyone in the neighborhood knows it was his own from the heart decision.
