I lost a TV over-the-air channel also and re-scanned the TV and it fixed the problem. Have you tried that yet?

Yep, that’s the first thing I tried. I’m going to get in the attic and try adjusting the antenna today and see what that does, then go from there.

I'm still trying to figure out what's broken. Sounds like your TV and antenna are in cahoots to save you from inadvertently seeing Mike Morgan.

Well that’s the good part anyway, no Mad Mike Morgan and his glitter tie.

What's the minimum height with this antenna that provided y'all with good results?

We're on high ground (about halfway between DFW and OKC), and lightning is a serious concern here (a CB antenna just above the roofline took a direct hit). We currently use a 16" or so loop of copper tubing about a foot below the ceiling, but we only get 7 channels (4 of KXII and 3 of KTEN).

Thanks. :drunk2:

Just put mine in the attic above the garage and pointed it towards OKC.

It seems many of the TV channels have been working on their antennas of late. The channel 43 range of channels would come and go during the day and be off all night. Just the other day it came back strong and full time. Sometimes channels 5.1 and 5.2 will pixilate as we walk around in certain areas of the bedroom beneath the attic mounted antenna. I attribute that to lowered signal strength as they work on their antenna or transmitter in conjunction with our magnetic personalities. :igetit: :rolleyes2

Right now, and for the last couple of months, we haven't been able to receive the channel 62 range of stations. I think they are still on the air because we get notifications on the TV stating "audio only", or "no signal", and sometimes text showing what show is on but no video or sound.

I think just be patient. Also, you could call the station and inquire if they are working on their equipment.

All that said, the antenna (or one like it) that Dennis recommends is a good choice. We have a similar one, have it aimed at the antenna farm, and our reception is quite good despite being in Kingfisher County west of Cashion and in a relatively low spot.

Anecdotally, we have a T-Mobile cell phone and live in one of their dead zones. However, If I go up into the attic, I get good reception. The point being that line-of-sight is relevant regardless if it is a vertical or a horizontal situation.

Fixed it. Crawled up in the attic and re-directed the antenna; all channels on all TVs now come in loud and clear. The antenna was a little wobbly so I tightened it down good once everything was set and working.

Now I can go back to putting a coat of Renaissance Wax on a couple of guns. Man, I like that stuff.

I have mine 6’ high right outside the shop door with a southern view to pick up OKC. I have a tv antenna tower but haven’t put it up yet.
The antenna on our RV is zip tied to the rear ladder with a 10’ length of 3/4” pvc when we set up camp and taken down to travel.
