Have you fished one of these before?

I picked up one of these lures today, and was wondering if any of you guys have fished with one, and did you like it.

This lure is a floater/diver and dives to an average depth of 6 feet.

As you can see, the bottom of the lure is clear, but the top comes in various colors, like the blue pictured, as well as orange, red, black, chartreuse plus a couple of other colors.

These lures also have 4 rattles in them, and the lure and bill are one solid piece and not an add on.

Next time I get a chance to go bass fishing, I'm going to make this my main lure of the day and see how well it will work, or not work, whichever the case may be. If it does catch fish though, I'll report back and let you know.

That reminds me of a lure I used back in the '80s. Seems like I bought it at the fishing store just off of Kenosha in BA, just west of the BA Expressway. I can't remember the name of the lure, who made it, or anything else useful about it, just that I had one. I pretty much only fished my grandpa's pond out in east BA, and my best luck was with a cane pole and fishing worms that we dug up behind the barn and kept in a coffee can...

Lure appears to be from the 80's like SoonerP226 said. There's one on ebay and the back of the package says 1986. Even shows as 'vintage' on another website. Even if you slay the fish with it, you most likely won't be able to go buy more. It might be worth more to a collector if it is still in the package. https://ontariofishing.com/Crankbaits-Rare-Rebel/

I am not a collector and since I have been given permission to fish 14 different bass ponds from a guy at church, this lure will definitely be unpackaged and put to use this weekend!

I also ordered a dozen more of these lures, still in the package in orange, chartreuse, black, purple and blue.

UPS just delivered a new 7 ft. 7in. bait casting rod with micro guides, that one of my customers in Arkansas made for me, as a thank you gift for a rifle that I built for him. This is a beautiful rod with a fine "ringed" finish that I have never seen before. I have never used a rod with micro guides before, so I am excited about using rod on my next fishing trip. Now, I just have to see what reel I want to pair it up with.

Well, since the rod was a gift, you are required to buy a reel that costs as much as the rod and your normal reel budget would be! I try n splain this to my wife all the time. She ain't comprehending it.

I got lucky and didn't have to spend a dime for a new reel. I had a low profile Pfleuger Supreme bait cast reel with a 7:1.1 retrieve sitting in it's unopened box, on the back of one of my fishing shelves. I spooled it up with 14 lb. Cajun Red fishing line, and now have a brand new outfit for pond hopping bass fishing.

So the next time my wife says let's go fishing, I will definitely be ready. I'm really looking forward to trying out this new rig, and can't wait to see how these "old" lures are going to do.
