Revolver has multiple chambers and if they are all the same exact size it would help.
My Ruger Blackhawk Bisley cylinder chambers were all over the place then the pinch at the barrel where it went into the frame. Unacceptable accuracy.
Semi auto pistol has 1 chamber and no forcing cone if everything in it is sized correctly it should be more accurate.
That instance you mention is more of an argument about precision as opposed to accuracy.
Think of precision as repeatability, cause one of those cylinder holes lined up w the barrel might shoot absolute lights out.
Just being picky.

I tried that with that Blackhawk marked each cylinder and shot for groups using the marked cylinder..I tried the largest, smallest and a middle one.
But the pinched down barrel made it not accurate.
Are all revolvers from Ruger getting pinched where the barrel screws into the frame? Or just the big bore?
Am I one of the few that slugs a barrel and likes to shoot at 100 yards with my pistols? I would not think so.

Getting cylinders the same size without the right tools takes some luck. If the barrel has as pinch near the frame getting rid of it takes more work and patience to slowly test each time you remove some of the pinch. Basically with both procedures you have to go slow and very small increments and clean and test every time or most will not improve accuracy much if at all or worse degrade what they had. There is a reason good revolver smiths charge what they do.

I had a 3 screw super, it would shoot 6-8" at 75. Once you got to 100, it might hit the plate it might not. My 44 redhawk is 6" at 200 yards. 300gr xtp with 22gr of h110. I played with the load tried different bullets, different weights, different powders and finally sold the gun. None of my other rugers shoot that poorly besides my old army. I'm sure they could all benefit from a good reaming but it would have to be bad for me to do it. No matter how you do it you'll never get all 6 exactly the same.

I had a model 28 that I could not hit the broad side of a barn with but I can ring a steel plate at 30 yards with my 442 PC
I do well with my Model 28. Was it too big for your hands or what? I notice that you do better with a J-frame so I suspect that could be it.
