Well, of course they say we were in their airspace. Maybe that is true, maybe it isn't... maybe we need independent verification of such things now, drones should fly with nanny drones to monitor and report back to an independent agency...

UN oversight anyone????

:thumbup3:

We’re actually quite fond of violating their airspace and sovereign waters. We did it pretty much every night when I was there.

The US has a terrible record of interfering internally in Iran over the past century or so. Somehow a lot of their citizens still like us. Lord only knows why.

On the other hand, their leadership is and has been pure evil for decades now. The IRGC is responsible for a lot of transnational terrorism, to include the EFP’s that killed a lot of our troops in Iraq.

Like anything else in this world, it’s a complex problem, made more complex by the ****** people playing games at the expense of others. We’d be better off avoiding the place IMO.

Here, but occasionally There.
My lady dentist is from Iran. Back a few years ago, when the Iranian people were protesting and trying to get free of the Islamic Mullahs, she and her husband were in support of the people. I don't think the Iranian people like living under the Mullahs.

I absolutely agree... the US is by no means innocent of provocation, either with this administration or previous ones.

However, that doesn't excuse laying mines in a shipping channel filled with multinational oil tanker, which has long been Iran's M.O. I personally think we should announce the "dissolution" of Iran's shipping industry to commence at 8AM some morning, make sure all their people know it is coming, so the innocents can stay at home, then drop a few hundred Cruise missiles to completely obliterate every seaport they own. Next comes the same for every airstrip in the country. Then we airdrop food in the streets with the US flag all over it for a few months.

I think the problem with the mullahs will sort itself out eventually.

By REUTERS
LONDON - Iran refrained from shooting down a US plane with 35 people on board that was accompanying the downed drone in the Gulf, a Revolutionary Guards commander said on Friday.

Amirali Hajizadeh, head of the Revolutionary Guards aerospace division, was quoted as saying by Tasnim news agency: "With the US drone in the region there was also an American P-8 plane with 35 people on board. This plane also entered our airspace and we could have shot it down, but we did not.

I'm highly suspect they have the capability to know the difference. Luck is a much more likely scenario.

How bout we just leave the middle east entirely and let them just kill each other?

Don't know the full story of the drone, but can guarantee what the gov is saying is half-canted bullspit. There ain't no intelligence at the top level, just propaganda to gain public support. Pearl Harbor was a shameful cowardly act, but it'll take another one of those before I support another war.
