Yeah... not to mention all the fun you'll have trying to put it on the neighbor's Doberman that probably don't like ya anyway... :D

Maybe give it to the neighbors as a gift. That could go good or bad, but since they're good neighbors, they would take it in stride and try to stay good neighbors. At least they would understand the issue with the barking dog and it would be an easy and cheap fix, for the neighbors.

That's kinda what I was suggesting. Subliminally.

I'm still liking all the funny suggestions.

Most times if you try to get the dog to know you it will become best friends, sometimes when I come across a barking dog I would tell it to shut up not loud or scream they would look at me confused and sometimes stop and walk away. I have heard somewhere think its vinegar and water in a spray bottle and squirt them not in the face of course its the water plus the smell of vinegar will make them stop or even just plain old water some dogs hate being squirted with water and will retreat to the back door. Or walk over with the water hose like your watering your lawn and blast him get him wet.

Your best bet is to try to make friends with it by feeding it(not too much) and talking to it. Don't ever yell or try to scare it- I had a friend that tried that with my half doberman/lab once and it never forgot it and wanted to bite his face off every time he came over. You might also try a sonic collar or something that emits an annoying noise when the dog barks, maybe nail it to the fence or hide it somewhere close to the fence.

That's actually a pretty good idea. :thumb:

Just remember that your lawnmower (or the neighbor's) may set it off, so ya might want to turn it off on those occasions. Shouldn't take long to train the dog anyway, if you go that route.

The problem with that is then the dog owner knows you have done something to the dog and they will claim it's your fault he's barking.

I once had a Rottweiler that would bark a lot. A dog trainer told me to get a coffee can and put some loose change in it. When the dog barks, go outside and shake the can. Seemed to actually work or maybe he was just glad to see me outside.
