I've carried my registration for years ... had to because I drove onto a military installation at least five days a week and they required it. Mine gets folded and placed in a plastic sleeve along with insurance verification.
It is one of the two documents you should receive ... Certificate of Registration and Payment Receipt.
I'm sure here in Bethany, they'll tow your stuff. That's what they do with people with no insurance.

I've always kept my registration papers in the glove box.
Someone probably made this law to win an argument that you are required to carry the registration.

Saw a TPD officer speak at an event last night. Someone brought the registration in car on July 1 up. He implied it basically wasn't high on his list of things that are important. Lawmakers making laws to keep revenue flowing is what it sounded like was the consensus.
Funny side note - He said he can't tell you how many people kept their titles in their car and were amazed that the person that stole their car now had the title in their name.

Has anyone asked their representative about this? There must have been an original reason for this change. I guessing it isn't any of the above.
