Yep, the girls wanted to get just a few chicks and ducks at Atwood's last summer/fall. Well I estimate they've got 35 head now that they've bought or traded for. They hatched a few in a borrowed incubator and sold em like hot cakes. They ran across a smokin hot deal on this fancy incubator and after letting it run for a few days learning how it stabilized temp and humidity wise they put 57 of a particular breed egg in it. The thing will hold 270 chicken eggs. I guess we will see the results in about 21 days.

That looks like a nice unit....bit I am somewhat disappointed.

I'm surprised to find y'all just didn't whip something up in metal out in the fab shop. :wink2:
It was discussed. Now that we have one to look at, I have an idea of what to build next time. They may want a separate hatcher that still needs humidity and temp control so I've got a feeling it may be homemade. They've been drawing and figuring their brooder plans. I bet that project happens next week. I've still got a big pile of that plastic sheeting like I put on the chicken tractor box that will be used as much as possible.

Ok, the results are in! 57 eggs went in 21 days ago and 46 live chicks came out today. They've put more sets in every week so I guess they will have more hatching every week. They say the next ones are due this coming Thursday.

WHAT IN THE HELL ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH THAT MANY??
Tyson better watch out!
They say they are gonna sell chicks. I guess they been getting swapped around into the breeds they think will sell best. I guess that's why they need so many different coops. So they can keep the breeding right. I had em give me the head counts today.

Grow pen has 23hd
Steel tractor has 7hd
Old original coop 19hd
Lil gray coop has 3hd
Brooder has 69hd
New wood tractor none yet
