Well I never got an answer to my question, so perhaps it's time to have a carbon offset measuring contest? Here's mine:

carbon-credits.png

Carbon credits are complete BS. How the EPA allows the selling of excess credits is beyond me. It doesn't tackle the enormous problem of corporate pollution. They blame you and I for driving to work instead of the 100 top companies responsible for some 70% of the world's pollution, including China & India's budding power plant infrastructure.

The reason they blame us is because they've traced the isotopes, or really the lack thereof, that are specific to burning fossil fuels. People can deny all they want, but the concrete evidence is now published, peer reviewed, and concluded. America gets the burden because we're the big bad back-to-back world war champs, but it's corporations and the evolving third world that really impacts our atmosphere.

That doesn't mean we should forget to take care of pollution, but I'd probably recommend starting off with the small things... like pistol whipping the next person you see tossing their fishing line clippings in the water and leaving bait and lure packaging amongst other trash along the banks of your local fishery. Those DB's deserve a beating.

Yeah, how did a post on drag queens in libraries become environmental?

I may have read somewhere that overexposure to carbon dioxide effects a previously void area of the brain, and when concentrations are high enough, it leads to the gay. That's why the huge metro areas have the largest concentrations of BLTs

Bacon Lettuce and Tomato?

You mean carbon Monoxide, CO. If Carbon Dioxide was the cause, we wouldn't have any animals in the forest because they would all be gay and no he'in and she'in would happen. They would all be he'in and he'in and she'in and she'in.

Saw a dude today at lunch in a Dress, some 70s head scarf makeup and some other flashy clothes. My coworker said check out that truck and the dude getting in it. I turned around and about died laughing. in a New Toyota 4 Runner with some giant CB antennas. If you see this guy in Tulsa I promise you won't forget it.

Wouldn't expect you to bud. You'll be long dead before mother nature can rebalance this rock.

I'm not so sure it's out of balance. I watched the dimocrat debates and their outrageous claims that science says we only have 12 years to survive and it will go downhill from there into total chaos.
We have debated this issue ad nauseum a dozen times showing the fake science behind the warming thing, and since the warmers found out they were outed with their fake science, they just changed the vernacular to climate change.
So how is this rock out of balance?
Bring your A game for a response.

I can't convince you to change your mind, nor do I care to try. I don't like talking about religion, I think it's personal to each individual, but I'm bored so I'll indulge you with the understanding that you won't change your mind so long as you understand I don't expect or wish for you to do so.

I can't say anything now that anyone here hasn't already ignored. Believe me, I didn't give it any credibility for a very long time. It wasn't until the science on the increasing fossil fuel specific carbon isotope levels in the atmosphere was discovered, published, and confirmed through peer review that I started paying any attention to it. That's what changed my mind, but still, my opinion shouldn't change your mind. You can only read the vast amounts of available scientific information and come to your own conclusion.

I understand anyone's urge to instantly disagree with a politician they don't see eye to eye with. But you have to keep in mind, politicians are incredibly stupid on the average. They don't know what they're saying, nor do they care. They're just hoping to drive votes on an issue they're more than likely heavily invested in. How this became a political thing is ridiculous. They've managed to put the blame of climate change on the citizens, when it is corporations that are statistically responsible. Vast enterprises with pockets deep enough to line politicians pockets to keep them out of it. Literally, 100 of the world's individual companies are solely responsible for 71% of the world's greenhouse gas emissions, yet politicians have laid it at our feet. Google it. Electric cars don't benefit Earth, they benefit the economy. But the Earth doesn't belong to the left or right. It belongs to all of us. And to think that we have no effect on our environment is something I can't make my mind think.

They talk of deadlines, tipping points, etc... I don't believe anybody knows, nor do I think anyone is qualified to estimate such a timeline. Science can't even agree on where most living species evolved from. However, I do believe we are, as a species, egotistical enough to believe we're smart enough to determine such things. We're a young species enamoured by our most basic accomplishments.

My faith in mother nature righting herself is set in history. Earth has survived an incredible birth in an inhospitable environment of nothingness. Several documented extinction level events. Nuclear war, disasters, and testing. I can't convince you that this rock is unbalanced. I can only encourage you read about carbon dioxide levels found in the historical record obtained through core samples. They've been higher than they are now. Whether or not the future generations of living species can adapt and evolve to live in that environment, nobody knows. The only constant is Earth and the extensive growing catalog of extinct species.

Maybe reading the science on those isotopes levels will be your personal game changer. Read up on it. Even if you don't agree with it, you'll be better armed for a climate debate. That way you won't have to lead with something a retarded politician said.
