My wife and I were eating at a local steak house in ada and I noticed an old couple sitting a couple of booths down from us. The old gentleman was wearing a Korean Veteran cap. They had finished their meal and were getting some to go boxes and the waiter was about to give them their ticket. Our waitress was at our table giving us our ticket and I told her to go get the waiter at the couples table and send him to me now. The waiter came over to the table and I told him to give me their ticket. He looked at me and said Really? I said yes, give me their ticket, I told him not to tell them who paid for their ticket just tell them that its paid. He did so and the couple were looking around to see if anyone they knew were in the restaurant that may have paid their ticket. They made their way to the front door arm in arm, my wife and I were just a head of them heading out. As they approached the front door I held the door open for them, reached out my hand to the old gentleman and shook his hand and thanked him for his service. He said thank you and we all parted ways. Once the wife and I were in our vehicle I said to her. You know that little couple will be wondering all day long who paid their ticket and in reality he paid for that ticket with his service to our country in Korea years ago. Not many of those old gentleman left.

I can easily order 20 dollars worth of food. It’s called going on a binge. You can save one item for later to alleviate some of the shame.

If you are binge eating at Taco Bueno you REALLY need to spend some time in the kitchen and at the grill and learn to cook some good food!! Taco Bueno is nasty!!!
By a cook book or six and google some stuff up and make a family/friend quality time thing out of it!! Just add some good booze and some good muzak and the day is won!! And then you top it all off with excellent food!! Did I mention Bueno is no Bueno:cool:!!

The OP's pass it on story is great stuff!!

Not tooting my own horn but what looked like a young, still wet behind the ears rookie cop in uniform and his equally young wife or fiance (she had a ring on her finger) came in and sat down for lunch a couple of tables from the wife and I at the Golden Phoenix on n. Classen early this spring around lunch time and when he went to the restroom I told the waiter to give me their bill which he did.

Apparently his lady friend overheard me talking to the waiter and when the rookie came back to the table she told him and he got up and he came to our table to thank me. I stood, said you're welcome, shook his hand and told him, "thanks for being a cop", out of the corner of my eye I can see the gal he was with was beaming and smiling from ear to ear......you could tell that she was really proud of her man.

Good feelings were felt all the way around.
