I lived in Texas for 15 years, unfortunately I never got to take advantage of those kinds of roads. I was always in the DFW area. Of course, my aggressive driving nature fit right in down there. Up here though, MAN I wish the Sunday drivers would quit starting their route on Wed. It's a good thing I work from home and don't drive even a quarter of what I did down there.

Don't be in a hurry. You'll get there just as soon as if speeding 10mph over the limit.
You couldn't pay me enough to drive in DFW or Houston. I don't know how many times I have been stuck in Dallas in traffic for 4 hours or more and only moved about 15 miles getting the hell out!

I went to Allen texas not too long ago and the traffic wasn't bad at all.
My Mom lives in Plano. Never considered the traffic “bad”. Roads are in better condition than about anywhere in Oklahoma.
I was driving down the Turner today when I saw an awesome display of driving. A guy in a newer Chevy half-ton was in the middle lane, but apparently wasn't happy with that, so he swerved into the left lane.
The guy in the Suburban who was already in that lane wasn't particularly pleased with that idea, so he laid on the horn to let him know that the lane was already occupied.
I guess he still didn't like the middle lane, as he then swerved back through that one and into the right lane.
The guy in the semi who was already in that lane also didn't care for that idea.
As for myself, I freaking punched it and got past him as quickly as I could before he decided to come visit my lane while I was still in it. Dunno what happened to him, because he'd been driving pretty normally up 'til then.

I've found that 'idiotitus', even in advanced stages, can just randomly show up with zero warning. A helmet and bubble wrap are advised.

Plano and Allen don't count as Dallas. Get down on I635 around I75 between 4pm to 10pm (or anywhere on I30 at ANY TIME), then you get to talk about Dallas traffic. [emoji38] [emoji38] [emoji38] [emoji38]
I was on the Turner a few years ago and was in the process of passing a semi. I saw these three motorcycles coming up fast in my mirror. Well, one of them there cyclemotors roared past me betwixt me and the semi I was in the process of passing. It was a female biker according to her long flowing hair and shapely body. She braked hard after getting in front of me and then two more shapely female types on Harleys skinnyed between me and the truck. The way they were riding those things they must have been wanted for murder.
Or they might've been from California, where that's legal. Well, apparently, it's not strictly legal, it's just not illegal.
