Protecting your civil rights is always the right decision. Video tape all encounters, always ask for a supervisor and stand your ground.

Protecting your civil rights is a good thing but best done at the courthouse before a judge with a law degree. The cop on the street isn't a lawyer and having a curbside trial seldom ends well. But ultimately it's up to you. Good luck.

I disagree. Cops are taught what the law is. It's up to them to them on how to enforce them. If they want to violate your rights or if they want to protect your rights depends on them. Yes, it will be decided in court but if you have video evidence it will be solid proof that they violated or protected your rights. More and more cops are losing their jobs or even facing jail time because of blue abuse.

I introduce myself to everyone I meet, so it really isn't a big deal. We drive around with a state issued tag on our vehicles, we have mail delivered to our homes, and give our email addresses to virtual strangers, I think I'm okay telling the LEO my name.

Funny thing, I've never videotaped or asked for a supervisor. Worst thing I ever got was a speeding ticket. Wanna know why? I'm not an *******. Seriously? "..always ask for a supervisor.." that is a load of horse crap. This is almost as bad so those yahoos who think they are 2A auditors.

That's your choice. I have relatives in law enforcement. They are the ones that advised me to videotape. Sad you think that standing up for your rights somehow makes you an *******. After all we can't upset the popo now can we? Give up one right you might as well bend over and give up the rest of them.
