I don't believe it is the drug companies, it is legal to make these drugs. It is the responsibility of the doctor and patient to know the limits and side affects. The current lawsuit, and trial in Oklahoma against the drug companies is about money, that's it. The state of Oklahoma wants more money, which they will then waste.

Oh, they have some blame, though I agree the lawsuits are about the money. There is blame enough to go around.

The fact that you would withdrawal does not mean your an addict. However the fact that you can keep your usage in strict check means you are absolutely NOT an addict. Lucky you don't have that certain brain thing that all addicts have. 1 in 10 people will become addicted to something in their life because they have a different chemical makeup (for lack of knowing better what to call it) in the brain. I do not have a addictive side but after this last knee surgery, the Dr. gave me a bottle of 85 oxycodone and I never took even one. I was afraid of getting plugged up because I now where a colostomy bag and getting constipated will land me in the ER so I simply tried to manage with 8000mg ibuprofen and that worked fine for about 4 days then I backed off that a little more each day as well.
Im sorry to hear your in such pain though, that sucks.

Man, my deal is nothing compared to yours. And yeah, opioids play hell on your digestive system; constipation sucks. If I do 2 pills a day for say 3 or 4 days, I gotta swill that magnesium sulfate stuff (like drano for your butt) or I’m in deep do-do.

Nobody should be able to tell you what you can or can't put in your body is what I've been told on other topics. I kinda agree with that. So, if nobody should be able to tell me what I can or can't do, then how can anyone else be to blame for what I do or don't do?

That is probably a terrible response to the question the op posed but it is one way I'm looking at it. I will say that I believe that I am responsible for me and my actions. I don't trust anyone 100% so I pretty much check everything out in my life and make sure I'm comfortable with the possible downsides. This most definitely isn't how everyone lives but it's how I live and I have the final say about ME. So my personal opinion is it is the end users problem. Do I have sympathy for em? Yep! Will I hug em and tell em someone else is to blame? Nope!

@TonyKane1 Thanks for your personal stories you have been posting about lately!

Two words....medical marijuana. I have several friends that got their licence and are now off all opioids and some are off medications for anxiety. One is my friend's father who has Parkinsons disease. He uses the THC oil and can now eat soup. Before he shook so bad any food was off the spoon before it got to his mouth. Another friend's wife was in such severe back pain they wanted to do surgery, she too went with the oil and gummies and is now off not only pain meds but muscle relaxers as well. Like it or not it's been a great alternative to opiods.

MM sure does hold a lot of promise BUT there is that little issue about it still being illegal according to the Feds. Basically, get your MM Card and turn in your guns and surrender your license to carry. Seems to me that if they wanted to help fix the opioid crisis, then make MM legal at the Federal level and seek to transition some people off opioids to it. But noooooo! So it’s okay to use Morphine and carry, but smoke a joint for pain relief? Oh noooooo. Silly.
