Boy, a lot of great choices available. Some time ago, I injured my right hand. Some things work for me, and some are impossible for me after maybe 10 rounds. One that works for me, and I carry it daily, is a Kahr CW380. LCP, virtually the same shape, etc., just is not tolerable for me.

So, I bow to @druryj and support the concept of renting, borrowing, etc to find what is best for her, not us.

My daughter works nights at a hospital, she’s in the process of getting her ccw license. I am wanting to look for the best pistol I can for her, something comfortable for tiny hands. I’d like to see her with a 9mm, but neither I nor she has a fat bank roll. I like the Ruger LC9, but not set on anything. Thinking something for ankle holster. Any ideas? Suggestions?

@cdschoonie, I had to come back to this...why an ankle holster? If it's as I suspect, working in a hospital and wearing scrubs, might I suggest she look at Belly Bands? Big Boys has some specifically for females; my wife bought one. But really, any good Belly Band should be fine. I use one frequently when wearing gym clothes; not to carry in the gym, but for after, if wife sends me to Walmart or the grocery store or something. But, just like the gun, she needs to make sure it works for her. I've never been big a fan of ankle holsters, especially for a primary. Its hard as hell to draw your gun from your ankle when you're haulin' butt trying to get away from somebody. Got your legs just-a pumpin' and your arm all swingin' around trying to snatch your gun...then, if you aren't real careful...fumble!

A good Belly Band also lets you carry IWB or AIWB as you wish.

Exactly. Stay away from ankle carry as a primary! The only thing worse is carrying it in her purse.

Letting her shoot several is the best option. My wife was already a shooter, but she tried four before settling on the G43. That was before the Sig P365 came out. That’s what I have now.

I would also suggest looking at the Ruger LCR in .327 Mag. Range of ammo goes from .32 short (which has about the recoil of a cap gun), .32 long, .32 H&R, to .327 Mag. She could get used to shooting with low power rounds and work up to some decent SD rounds. I believe that Hornady makes a Critical Defense offering in .32 H&R that appears to have good ballistics.

Didn’t even think about the belly band, great idea.
