You can replace the gfci with a single plug where freezer is plugged in and put gfci down line on circuit. (Next plugin line)
A GFCI has been required by NEC (National Electric Code) in Garages for a VERY long time.

A great video if anyone wants to learn how a GFCI works. Note that the content creator is in the UK They call them RCD's and the one he shows looks similar to a circuit breaker. It is not a circuit breaker
A GFCI monitors the amount of current flowing from hot to neutral since it's AC. If there is any imbalance, it trips the circuit since it detects a fault. Wonderful devices, but they can drive you crazy wondering why they keep tripping.
Right now leaning towards the outside receptacle maybe not being water tight.
I also need to find out if there are more outside receptacles on that circuit.
