shootsumm - I was thinking about you last week and hope you are doing well.

jfssms - I am talking once a week for 20 minutes. I'd like to do the gym twice a week, but often don't get to it.

I have good energy most of the time, and it has gotten better since I've been at the gym in the last couple of months. I can walk briskly for a long time without getting tired. I'll go in for a physical though and get that done. I've experienced the same thing years ago when I was going to the gym too when I overdid it, so hopefully it isn't a big thing. We'll see what the doc says.

Go see the doc and get checked. When things happen to your body that you’re not comfortable with, it’s your bodys way of saying “I need to go to the doctor.” Listen to it.

My wife convinced me to go to urgent care just to be checked and they listened to my heart, etc. They think I was just dehydrated and pushed myself too hard. I'll make an appt. with my general doc soon and get that done too. Thanks for the advice everyone.

Go to the dr. get checked out. I was at a gym in Bentonville (arm-wrestling tournament/strongman event) two weekends ago and some lady passed out there....the heat will get you. I did my first half-marathon in April and I still run 3-4 times a week, but have cut back on the miles because of the heat. My heart-rate is probably about 15 bpm faster at the same pace in these temps, than when it is 50-60 outside.

Water is key, drink more than you think you need to. Also focus on your breathing, it is very important. As you increase the weight you have a tendancy to strain more, and hold your breath as you do, you need air to do the work.

Try to roll the sodas back if you can too.

I've gotten a little frustrated with gaining a little weight, I like to eat. So I decided to try Noom(smart phone app). So far I'm really pleased with it, if you are looking to change some behavior I think it would work great.

Today I was going through 10 or so machines doing the 60 second work and 30 second rest thing where you try to see how many reps you can get one. I've been doing his once a week for a couple of months now and trying to increase the weights on the machines, I'm up to 55 pounds on most of them now. Today I freaked my son out a bit who comes to the gym with me because I pushed myself too hard and had to sit and rest at the end because I was completely exhausted. Exhausted to the point where I wasn't finishing the walk to the car - I needed to rest and put my head a table and for 5 minutes. I I've had this happen before when I did too many lunges and basically ended up laying down for 5-8 minutes until recovering. I'm late 40s now, but this happened to me a couple of times when I was younger too (teens). It seems to be all about pushing too hard. Anybody else run into this? Do I just need to go a bit easier?

This is a joke, right? You do the above "exercise" for 20 minutes, once a week, and are asking advice as to complications? It's a joke, because you can't be serious.

Twenty minutes, once a week? LOL. That's funny.

Nice, so someone is putting in effort, and you want to diminish it?

Way to be classy man...
