And this is exactly how the minimum wage works.

Bernie Sanders campaign announces it will cut hours to pay staffers $15 minimum wage

Democrat presidential candidate Bernie Sanders announced this weekend he will cut staffers' hours so that they can effectively be paid a $15-an-hour minimum wage, prompting mockery from critics who say the move is more evidence that Sanders' plan to raise the national minimum wage is hypocritical and would only lead to less work and more unemployment.

Man, that guy is a clown
Close. He closely resembles a character by the name of Carl on an adult cartoon, "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" Sound just like him, too.

Cuts them to 42 to 43 hours a week and then the arm twisting starts to "donate more time" to the cause and "prove your dedication". End result, they be working the same 60-80 plus hours a week they've been working but only get paid for 40.

Clown shoes.

Clown shoes for the staffers that buy into it too.

And this is what happens when the minimum wage is raised. Hours and jobs get cut to keep the costs down. I'm old enough to remember when Wal-Mart used to have a lot more cashiers open, to the point there were more open lanes than closed. Every minimum wage hike saw fewer and fewer cashiers. And thats just to name one company.
