First, I’d question my life choices that left me with a .22lr and .380acp as defense when I have a perfectly good 9mm in another room.

Then, I’d grab both and go to work with the .380. If necessary engage target with the .22. Then hope and pray the BG decides to leave willingly since there really is no chance that a handful of .380s and .22s could be any more than an annoyance.

Reason I asked is was sitting on the couch and realized this could be a real situation. I keep a Browning 1911-22 under the coffee table for critters I see running across the property from time to time. Skunks, dillows, possums digging up the yard. I carry a Ruger 380 which goes on the coffee table when I set down. The Glock 9mm is 6 steps away hidden and the Ruger 1911 is back in the bed room. Wouldn't have time to reach the Glock or the 1911 but could reach both the .22 and 380 almost instantly.

Thanks for playing was interesting.

I will go with the one in each hand option (don’t leave one for the bad guy) and add, making my way to the higher capacity and power factor in the other room before the first two run dry.

In the heat of the moment I figure if you start poking holes in somebody no matter what size they might want to rethink their decision making paradigm....between the two, I`ll go with .22 just because of capacity.

The Kel-Tec PMR-30 in .22 mag certainly comes to mind with a 30 round capacity and almost zero recoil.
One could perforate a subject quickly.

I tried, for the first time, some Armscor 22lr that I picked up on sale. Used my M&P 15-22 that has eaten everything I've fed it. Well, I've found something it doesn't like! Had multiple failures of every type --- feed, eject, fire, chamber --- you name it. I probably won't dispose of this ammo, but it'll surely go the bottom of a very big pile of 22lr ammo. Just my experience, yours may be different.

So, I might ask a qualifying question for the original poll --- what kind of ammo is in each one?

this is my answer as well, don't have one yet but they are in my sights. those RIA flame thrower 22 that looks like a rifle cartrige pack some heat too

Talk about a flame thrower! That .22 mag Kel-tec has a massive fire ball even in daylight.
I’ve let several buddies shoot it and that each said the same.
Designed to be shot in a rifle so there is unburned powder leaving the barrel.
I have some Speer ammo designed for short barreled pistols in .22 mag. I ran it across the chrony. It no different in velocity than CCI rounds.
About 1500 FPS. I suspect they put a bullet in the round to perform at pistol velocity. Just my opinion.
