I have been looking at buying a new KIA Stinger GT 1 or 2 ( hard to look at a Kia without thinking about redneck). I hate buying cars and playing the let me see manager game, just give me your best price and let’s be done. Is there a place a guy can look and see what I should expect out the door. It should not take all day to get one bought. I’m thinking of emailing 5 or 6 dealers, tell them what I want and options, letting them know what I’m doing and have them give me their best price. Any advice?

If you're a member of Sam's Club, they can negotiate a very good price on vehicles. Absolutely rock bottom? Maybe not. But certainly good enough to eliminate the hassles/stress of negotiating yourself. I've use 'em a couple times and was very satisfied with the results.

Good luck on your search! The Stinger GT looks to be a great car (and you don't see 15 of em on every block).

So for my wives car I did that exact thing when I bought it. At the time we were still in Lawton. I looked on the Honda forums and there was a thread were people posted what they were paying for Accords. I had an idea of what a good price was. I sent an email to all the Honda dealers in OKC one Saturday morning. Told them I was headed to town, the exact car I wanted color, options so on and the one with the best deal was getting my money. In 20 minutes I had people calling me. Ended up one guy called said whats is the best off you have. I told him he said he would call me in 10 with a better offer. He beat the best offer buy $200. Got there the car was already tinted and had some other options that I got for free. Got there wife test drove it. Waited 20 minutes to get into finance to sign papers we were in there for maybe 20 minutes and done. Easiest deal I ever made.

Your issue is you are buying a car that there is a much more limited supply of so it will take a little more work. Still if you are willing to travel someone will make you a deal on one. Another thing is if your not familiar with car industry. You want an all in price including fees and b.s. Tell them you aren't paying doc fees and all that garbage or to include it in the price. Be prepared to walk away from any deal. Never fall in love with a vehicle till you own it. Once they tell you a price if they hit you with other fees tell them. I am not paying B.S. $500 doc fee when you electronically submit the tag and print 5 sheets of paper work.

Just know there are multiple transactions in buying a car. One is sale price of vehicle, two if you are financing that is a separate issue, the best will be from a credit union or from the manufacture if they have financing. The last is a trade in. All 3 should be treated separately. Fourth would be extended warranty. Never buy one.

Avoid a 4 square or any of that B.S. from the salesman. If your not savvy on how car dealerships work this guy has a pretty good video.

Buying my Tundra, I started at a dealer and had him build me a truck with all the options I wanted and give me a walk out the door price.
When we got done he told me they don’t discount that truck because they can sell them at list price.
So I sent his paperwork by email to every Toyota dealership in Ok, Ks and Tx asking them for their price out the door. A month later, after dozens of quotes from dealers back and forth, guess who sold me the truck with the lowest price?
Yep, the first guy that said they don’t discount those trucks.
I walked into a dealership twice. First time to get a formal quote and the second to pick up my keys and drive it off the lot.

Apologize for getting off topic but how do you like the tundra? I’m looking for a truck to pull a camper and the Toyota’s with the 5.7L engine seem to be more in the used price range than the f250 and 2500s.

I didn't know Sam's sales car. Things that you learn in OSA....

I tried to buy a Stinger this spring from the two Kia dealers in Tulsa on a no trade, no finance deal, but never could get a firm OTD price. Just the come in, set down and we will work with you BS. Nice car but I passed and bought a Accord 2.0 T Touring Sedan at a little less than invoice, dealing with the internet sales manager.

I'm not saying it's the best way, but here's how I do it.

Go to the manufacturer's website and "build" it exactly how I'd like to buy it. Then I figure out which (if any options) I'm willing to live without or accept if they're already on the car even though you don't want them.

Then I go on Autotrader and try to build out the car as close as I can to ideal, search and sort price lowest to highest within driving range. For example, there are 5 Stinger GT2's within 100 miles of OKC that range from $46-47.3K asking price. You can use that to leverage your nearest dealer on OTD price.

BUT, if you're willing to put more effort into it and expand that search to nationwide, you'll find new 25+ GT2's in the $41-44K range. Now you may or may not be able to get a local dealer to match those prices, but you're better informed when you approach them. If you're not getting a good deal you can walk away rather than feel like that's the best you can do.

That's what I did last year when I bought my Colorado ZR2. Locally all I could get was $3,500 off MSRP. I ended up catching a $280 Southwest flight to Phoenix and drove home with exactly what I wanted for $8,250 off MSRP. Even factoring the flight, fuel and mileage depreciation, I was still almost $4K ahead for a weekend trip. Some people aren't willing to work that hard but to me, $4K is $4K! :)
