Sadly I still am. Doc visit today wore me out.

That sucks. You need to get well too.

Anyway, Jimmy sent me these wonderful pics of the rifle so I’ll post them here for all to enjoy!

This is one I'd sure like to shoot...I loved the old M-14. For shooting that is. But for humping around with it and all the extra ammo...not quite as much. This thing would make a nice little rifle to have for those times you'd like to have a rifle, but maybe don't need the extra weight and OAL of its bigger brothers. If Jimmy was really my friend, he'd bring it over and at least let me fondle and finger it some...
The great thing about the Mini is that its Garand style rotating bolt operating system mimics its bigger brothers but with the recoil of the .223/5.56mm cartridge. They really are fun to shoot.

I bet you must be bored out of your mind. Here is a pic to help pass the time. Try and guess what I took a pic of.

Yes. Lying in bed bored up to my blood-red eyeballs with a catheter still in, pissin' red, in pain, weak as a newborn, ice bag on my head, still trying to get over it and somewhat medicated to boot...but I say it's a pic of a family of...I think it's 4, yeah, just 4 black mountain lions hiding amongst the black rocks out there in the dark. I could tell it was a family of them when I saw that little one there on the left blink and then glance up as that flock of bats flew over. Oh; and thanks for the pic. I likes me some pics you know.

(At first I thought it was feral hogs but then I figured you had already gotten rid of them...all except that one I'd guess at about 100-125 lbs lying real still about maybe 75-100 yards to the right of the momma black mountain lion. He's hard to pick out at first in the dark but I see him there. He might oughta be more worried about all those dang bats; they can suck the blood plumb outta a piggy right quick).

And the cloud that looks like a cat stalking the bats.

I thought sure it was them two bald eagles in the top of that there tree off to the right.

The downside to the mini has always been magazines. Only the factory mags are reliable and they are $35-$50 a piece while AR mags are fairly cheap ,the last batch of 30rnd pmags I bought were $8 each. On the other hand I had a mini 30 that I killed a bus load of pigs with until my drug and alcohol addicted stepson stole it and traded it for meth

Ok, youse guys made me drag out my Mini 30 and snap a pic.

I like this "tactical" model because of the military style winged front sight and the heavy duty click adjustable thick rear peep.
Normally I am an old school wood and metal man.

Hadn't fired it in probably 2 years. Think I'll walk out to the range and let loose a few:)

BTW...Saddlebum is exactly right....open the wallet and buy the factory mags only...you won't regret it!

I have always liked the idea of the Mini 14 but for me they are overpriced and lack some accuracy compared to an AR-15. And yes the magazines are quite expensive too.

A Mini 14 that was a tack driver and used Pmags would be incredible!
