What's the Story on Revolver Grip Adapters?

Does anyone know the history or the story about the various revolver grip adapters? I know they have been made by S&W, Pachmayr, Mershon (or is it Pachmayr/Mershon?), Tyler, and now BK Grips. I think the only two left are Tyler and BK Grips as of now. :anyone:

One of my first jobs as a kid was Tyler T Grips on Britton Road in OKC. Polishing aluminum T grips using a pair of modified pliers to hold them against the buffing wheel. I would go home with black face before it was considered not politically correct.

I miss going to Melvin Tyler’s shop. He was one of the ol’timers that took time to talk to ya.

Man I loved that place too. I wish I had some his ivories still; they were awesome, and as said above, would age beautifully.
