I'll start by saying that i am a lyman dealer and that press is priced below my cost at midway and amazon. If i didnt trust a company's service or products, i wouldnt carry their products, much less use them. Ive dealt with lyman customer service a couple times over little stuff ive broken or bent on their dies over the years but no more than lee, dillon, rcbs, forster, or hornady.

over the years i have dealt with customer service from pretty much everyone in the reloading business. None have ever given me any grief except hornady (one time) when they treated me like i wasnt capable of removing 3 screws and installing a small shaft in my tri-way trimmer after they sent me the wrong gear the first time. A hand written letter in the package returning the part they sent me for free yielded a package a week later with all 3 shafts and gears.

I havnt personally had that lyman press in front of me but i did go read the reviews on midway and amazon just now. The only thing i see a real issue with is the "burrs" on the ram which is in 2 of the reviews. That sounds like something i would just fix and go on about my day. I own 6 dillons, 3 lee, an rcbs, and 3 old pacific presses all of which have had a "cosmetic issue" here and there.

Any press that expends the spent primers through the ram is going to get dirty and scrape that fouling off at any portion of the casting it comes in contact with so those people are just complainers and i dont put much stock in their issues to begin with.

Lyman makes great products and has excellent customer service as does rcbs redding and hornady. Lee has some great products also but their single stage priming system requires a little more user input.

Gavintoobe on youtube has a 45 minute video featuring like 15 single stage presses from all the big guys, he gives sensible reviews and talks about the pros and cons of all of them. He seems to have enough of a brain for me to respect his opinion.
