Picked up a S&W Model 36 no dash, blued steel, round butt, grips numbered to the frame, circa 1968 revolver today.

There are a very few handling marks from being fifty-plus years old, but not any mechanical wear I can see. Here are some quick pics from the dining room (aka the gun cleaning) table.

Very nice. Do you plan on carrying it? I have one that's comparable, but without the pinned barrel.

Thank you. I don't carry the older revolvers very much, but do occasionally. I do carry a S&W Model 442 Airweight that is lighter, concealed hammer, no internal lock, and don't mind it getting carry wear.

I probably wouldn't carry that one either, given the other options available.

Here's an old one that I'm seriously considering carrying. Buffalo Bore make a 32 S&W Long load that's got to be as effective as 380... (I'm really reaching for justification to carry this thing.)

Model 30 (no dash.) Something about a 2" I Frame is just cool to me.

Nice gun! I love the older S&W revolvers, even more when they have "character" but still function very well. I have limited myself to .38 Special revolvers (and a 9mm pistol) so I only have two types of ammo to keep up with.

I tried to stick with limited calibers, but I failed. I'd be lost without a reloading press.
