Had a gal on the phone (on my landline) yesterday tell me that I could upload their APP.....told her it was all I could do to even spell APP and that I would continue to call when I needed assistance.

I've upgraded a few times since but I started with a desktop & tower with a corded mouse back in the early 90's and that is all I still use for internet access.

I don't want or own a smart phone (I carry a flip phone occasionally), laptop, tablet or a digital camera......haven't taken any pictures in quite awhile but I figure if I decide to I've got a couple of quality 35mm's around here some place.

I guess to some I'd be considered behind the times. :)

I'll just throw it out there, a $300 tablet changed my 87 year old grandma's quality of life. She fought because she didn't want to have to learn anything new, but she took to Android so instantly and naturally. My other 84 year old grandma had the same experience with an IOS iPad. You can do it, I have seen miracles of technology.

I agree, I think you are really holding yourself back from a world of new experiences. The difference is, you don't have to become DEPENDENT on technology, and not be able to get by without your smartphone or tablet, but damn... the convenience some of these things offer is incredible.

I realize you don't think you need it, and I agree, you obviously DON'T. But... thinking you can't or won't find a use for it, I think you're wrong, and I think you are probably missing out on some cool experiences.

But hey, to each their own.

My Dad, in his late 80s, purchased a pair of Apple iPhone 6, one each for he and Mom. Together, their ages total more than 170 years.

He loves it, as an engineer he was never afraid of new ways of doing things - he spent his life developing new techniques (his name is on dozens of patents).

Mom, well, she just smiles, and sets the new phone on the stand next to her chair....from which I doubt it has ever moved.
