So how are they going to get them?

While this is a good idea while it lasts. I believe that 5G is going to require upgrades in oreder to have service.
Listening to everybody is pretty much the same as listening to nobody. Imagine the gubmint trying to sort out the noise.

By the way should anybody forget that the reason that China is going to be able to implement their good socialist, bad socialist social reward/punishment system is because of Google's help with AI, Nueronet tech, and search engine engineering.

Nokia 5190. 21 years and still going strong.

About 5 or 6 years ago, the face on mine cracked. I went to scour some pawn shops for one with a decent face. At the first pawn shop I went to, the proprietor reached under the counter and handed me a basket with 5 phones it. Three of them were 5190's, two were older models. He simply said "Take them. I need the space."

About three years ago, one of the battery contacts broke and I salvaged and soldered in a good contact from one of the 'parts' phones and was back in business. I had to drill some really small holes along the side of the phone to install some tiny screws to keep the battery from slipping off.

As for any of those listening devices; never had one, never will.

I was made to turn in one of those at work because the provider was no longer going to support the older technology used in those.

"How are they going to get them?"

Here's the thing. They don't have to come get them. They just have to make it impossible for you to use them for anything short of open rebellion, which most folks don't have the stomach for. They just have to make you a criminal if you are caught with them.

They can ban them and/or require registration. If you don't comply, they now become really expensive additions to your garden, lawn, forest or wherever you decide to hide them.

Computers can do that in real time. Sorting out key phrases and words is so simple your children's toys do it
Yup, NSA, FBI, DID, hell all the alphabet agencies have been doing it for years. Once they finally figure out how to truly work together, lots of people will be going to jail. That is unless they are politicians and or wealthy.
