Anybody know of anyplace in the OKC metro area that carries the Altama Maritime assault boot? I know for a fact that Special Ops Uniforms does not.

Looks like a big improvement over the old supply-hooch-issue swim sneakers (coral creepers) we used in USMC Recon units back in the old days. Those things had zero support. Basically they were a thin, flat piece of rubber with a canvas upper glued and sewn to it. They were okay for swimming or in a rubber boat, or when wearing fins. But once ashore, unless you had any distance to go, you were better of just wearing a pair of wetsuit booties. They'd get wet and full of sand easily. Just what I wanted, a pair of coarse, sand-filled, wet, ill-fitting miserably uncomfortable shoes to try to sneak around in. Amazon has these Altamas for $69.00 - up by the way. I think I need a new pair myself, for stealthy recon missions, like when tactically taking out the trash and puttering around in the yard and stuff.

These really aren’t made for everyday walking, are they? I noticed they have a “port” low down on the sides; as I often walk my dogs in dew-covered grass, I picture my socks getting wet from that point on.

I've read nothing but good reviews on these as an everyday casual shoe...as well has a range shoe. I was able to score a pair in the black multicam...should be here today.

@AirMech74; please post up how you like them and if they run true to size.

I am totally digging these...I pulled the rubber insoles out and put in some of my own with arch support...wow....very nice....lightweight, I wear 11, and these fit perfect...I ordered 11 wide but got regular...vut they fit great, so I'm not gonna worry. I'll come back in a few days and update after wearing them out and about.
