Wow. I looked at the photo, and my first thought was "I know that guy."
At least, I think I knew him at some point in the past. He sure looks familiar.
I lucked out. When I bought my house three years ago, first thing I did was knock on doors to meet my neighbors. Luckily, they're all super cool. When the power goes out in Spring, we gather in the middle of the street and drink beer King of the Hill style. We throw dominoes, work on each others houses, and mow each others lawns when they can't squeeze it in.
If you don't know your neighbors, go knock on their door and introduce yourself.
