The gist of the vid is that the whole cholesterol-causes-heart-disease idea is based off of one flawed study by an incompetent and unqualified person back in the 50s. His name is Ansel Keys.
Over the years there have been studies, real studies, that have shown his conclusions to be wrong.
But his aggressive personality and the media hype have created a monstrous machine around this false concept.

There a quite a few vids on youtube about it, and not from new age whackos.
There have been real discussions and debates around putting children on statins as part of routine care, offering statins as condiments with fast food to offset the supposed bad effects of the meal, and even putting statins in the water supply.

The vid shows how they manipulate statistics when they say something like "Lipitor reduces heart attacks by 34%", when really it's about .4%. That's POINT 4 %. Hardly worth the risk when considering the side effects.

Drug companies are not our friends, and science and doctors are subject to the same frailties as the rest of us when it comes to greed, job security, and reputation.

Think of the industries involved in the cholesterol-is-bad thing; drugs, food, insurance. It would be hard to put the brakes on that train.

Today's certain truth can be overturned (e.g. what causes ulcers)....but I still feel it best to rely on my doctor's opinion, since I'm not a medical researcher or biomedical statistician.

Just finished watching this; excellent. The wife and I have been doing the keto diet since June and we're believers.
There's so much evidence out there supporting it and saying exactly what's in the FAT documentary.

We've been lied to folks, just like we're being lied to about climate change.

I've lost more than 70 pounds doing the low carb thing. Also, my cholesterol has gone down even though I eat a lot of meat/high-fat stuff. It's about losing weight. I feel better. Went to an annual check-up August 2017 and when I saw that I was 270 pounds I said to my self that is "not right". Been doing the low carb thing since with the weekly cheat day with the Lawton lunch gettogether that is posted on this site. I'm now less than 200. I weigh less than when I retired from the Army. I was able to wear my Class A's for my daughter's wedding last month.

.

And the organization that hosted this video "IHMC research partners have included: DARPA, NSF, NASA, Army, Navy, Air Force, NIH, IARPA, DOT, IDEO, Raytheon, IBM, Microsoft, Rockwell Collins, Boeing, Lockheed, and SAIC, among others."

Money talks.

OK, help me out, those look like military and related companies....what's the connection?

Sort of a side note; in the news lately was talk about the military going on the keto diet, but logistical problems sort of killed the discussion.
And the Seals might have something to do with keto: https://www.hsph.harvard.edu/news/hsph-in-the-news/keto-diet-navy-seals/
