Just for clarification folks, the open carry policy is a request. It will be requested, not prohibited. We will be required to request that anyone carrying openly either conceal the weapon or secure it in their vehicle while shopping.
This is how it was worded to us, take it for what ever it is worth.

Does someone in the corporate office honestly believe that SBR ammo is a thing?

Saturday afternoon "Carl" at the Sand Springs Wal-Mart had about 5 carts lined up/backed up at the exit scanning receipts then scanning a couple of items in the cart to make sure people weren't stealing anything. I looked at my wife and she knew without a word we were leaving to go shop at Cash Saver instead.

I'll order my ammo from SG, my Surefire CR123 batteries from Amazon and get my groceries less than a mile away on my side of the River from now on.

Walmart can pound sand!

I couldn't tell you that, all I know is that this makes me so mad and even sad as an associate with this company.
"Here Mr. Customer is your new mini 14, oh yeah, go elsewhere to buy your ammo. We don't want that part of your business."

GOOD. It will give more business to the mom and pop gun shops. I haven't purchased a gun or ammo from wallyworld in 20 years.
I know a lot of people don't shop here. But one of the perks was I got my discount on ammo and that makes more affordable for my family to enjoy a range day. Sadly they will be fewer and farther between now.

Where’s all those boycotters at?
I am boycotting Wal Mart and have for almost 10 years ? For many other reasons other than ammo, in fact the only thing I have purchased from Wal Mart in the last 5 years is in fact ammo (and 5 year combo licenses) of which I have purchased from them twice. The rest of purchases have been ammo, in fact today I purchased a mmo and talked to the clerk who was not exactly pleased with the decision. Boycott of Wal Mart is and will make a huge difference, they are already recalling from AMAZON, this will not be good for them.

Boycotts do work, ask Gillette and Dick’s Sporting Goods. Gillette was a new one for me but an easy switch, as was Dick’s Sporting Goods (Considered them overpriced to begin with)

They are banning all assault rifle and hand gun ammo, and hand guns in Alaska. They will only sell hunting style ammo and rifles apparently. It is their right to do so, and my right to stop shopping there altogether.
