If nonsensical boycotts actually worked, the only people damaged by the action would be the employees.

I had knee replacement surgery last week at Norman Healthplex, and was told that I couldn't open carry in the operating room. That would be enough for some to never enter a hospital again.
You know several of my surgeon customers carry belly bands under their scrubs

A buddy told me the Owasso Atwoods had stopped carrying guns. Anyone heard of Atwoods getting out of guns and ammo? I know the last ad they had was pretty light. Normally they have a full page of sale stuff.

Come to think of it, the Atwood’s in Vinita had almost no handguns when I was there last week. Just a few in .380, and their ammo offerings were pretty sparse.

Legal butt-covering, I would suspect.

I don't think they will have "clearance" prices...they will just not restock.

And as to the comment about the boycott w/ Dick's? Yes, that worked...they even upped the ante and will (have?) stopped selling all guns. And Gillette? Yeah that has REALLY hurt their bottom line. If you are boycotting Gillette...does that include EVERY PRODUCT sold by P&G (the parent corporation).
P&G hasn't made such a foolish stunt with its other product lines but if they did I’d boycott them too. Given the Gillette debacle I doubt they allow it with other lines in the portfolio

I would guess the sold out, don’t think they would leave the market. UNLESS insurance companies are going to raise rates for all who sell forearms which may actually happen eventually. They will find and use any method they can to eliminate the sale of firearms, with or without a confiscation or ban

Does Walmart really think this is helping the situation. It's always the law abiding citizens that get the short end of the stick. Hell, the mental idiots now will just start wearing trench coats and probably buy em from the same damn store.....Geez

I wonder if they will have a sale in remaining ammo? I rarely go in a Walmart and the few times I used to buy 9mm ammo there I had to wait forever for a clerk to show up to open the locked cabinet. Maybe since they won’t have to do that anymore they can open more than 1 register now up front.

Here's the thing with business decisions and Walmart. The Walmart story is one of fantastic growth. That only comes from making more good decisions than bad ones.

It would appear that McMILLAN and his Board studied all the conflicting data, some valid and some not, and made the decision that this would be advantageous to their business.

It is easy for us to forget that currently, it seems, there are fairly equal numbers of customers, voters, etc. on either side of the firearm issues of today.

They probably do a better job of knowing their customer base than we do, and they would not make a decision to anger the majority of that base.

The objective of any "for profit" business is to determine the wants, needs, and desires of their customers. If a rival business cannot compete in the area of those requirements, they must find another way to compete. Many of the "mom & pop" stores we want to worry about, failed because they could not give want the customer wanted. Playing fields are not level, and it is not the responsibility of Walmart, or any other enterprise, to give up the advantages they built in a free market arena.

What exactly is "Short barrel Rifle ammo" Is it shorter than the ammo for a regular barrel?

True . . . but I'm curious why they felt the need to specify short barreled rifles . . .

Probably those short barreled AR platform “pistols” these “auditors” have slung across their backs while trying to “educate” everyone as to what is legal and what isn’t.

You are correct Dave. The Dayton guy had a pistol for sure. I was busy this weekend so haven’t followed the Odessa thing much. What weapon was used in that?

Pretty sure that Dayton was also an AK variant.

What struck me as very strange was that El Paso, Dayton and one other that happened in close time frame to those two, the shooters used AK variants. Almost all others have been "evil" ARs and then all of a sudden, THREE separate spree shooters are using AKs???
Just makes one scratch their head.
And wonder if Professor Raoul X is real.

Dave
