This USE to be a GREAT Place to shoot. It is presently not in very good shape. They don't always open in a timely manner which affects folks who are on a tight work schedule.
The access road leading to the range is in very poor condition. I would not drive any vehicle there on the access road that has low ground clearance because the bottom will drag out and get high centered. Need a SUV or pickup with high ground clearance to clear the potholes and ditches in the road.
I realize we have had lots of rain this summer to deal with but the end result is the Range Access Road is not driveable for a lot of vehicles.
I did see that they are repairing some of the target holders on the range.
Shot at Happy Hollow for years but will not go back until the Access Road is Fixed because I don't want to risk damaging my vehicle.

Once upon a time you could rent a horse and go for a trail ride, But there was no small fixed $$ limit on a broke arm or leg so for liability reasons they shut down as they could not afford to operate.. If it's near by, relatively safe and makes you Happy to be able to shoot.. You might want to count your blessings it's still there.. That's my take on it anyway..

Last time I went, I lost a side skirt on my car trying to navigate the road (literally, had to have a friend take me back to retrieve it). Options are nice, but I'll head north to USSA.

I was at happy hollow Labor Day weekend with a friend in my Camry. OP is right, the access road was horrible but I was able to get down and somehow by the grace of god back up again without any major incident. I found the folks there very nice and pleasant to talk to. The range experience was great and well ran, however they have very limited ammunition and targets available for purchase so bring plenty of your own ammo and targets.

I talked to the lady in the office and voiced my concerns about the access road. She told me they had repair it and got heavy rain almost immediately afterwards which ruined everything. She said they will definitely be repairing the road again soon so take that for what it’s worth.

Access road is a big F-
Range Experience B+

Deep in the Creek County woods.
I am fortunate to have my own little range and range house at my place.

I live just about 2 mi SW of Happy Hollow and have been hearing some bad reports about the state of disrepair and the access road.

Hope they can get things straightened up soon.
