My wife and I went to Maine for vacation a few years ago and got a rustic little cabin for a week in Bass Harbor, on Mt. Desert Island, about 15 or so miles southwest of Bar Harbor. We have talked about going back to Maine again this next year, but this time, we're going to do it this way.

We chose the Stephen Taber, it is on the list in the first link. Oh, the other ones look awesome too, but there's a couple of YouTube videos about the Taber that convinced us that was the one for us.

The second link is the Taber's web site. Link #3 is just interesting reading and helped solidify our decision. We're going in early to mid June; I can't wait!

The chef on the Stephen Taber does all the cooking on an old wood burning stove. There’s a couple of videos on the website under the heading PRESS where you see it in action. Pretty cool stuff.

This looks like a lot of fun. Before booking, ask if the Captain recently worked on a dive boat in California.

He didn’t. His Parents bought the boat when he was 7, been sailing her all his life and he bought it from them in 2004.
