I've done a handful over the past few years. I came across a cheap coal forge and blower on the cheap, figured I'd give it a shot. It's hot and hard work. I found out the hard way that a good looking blade can be brittle, soft, warped, burnt, etc...lol Turned out I like making wood handles a lot more. Give it a try, it's quite a fun and humbling experience
A friend of mine forged a few knives and did a pretty good job of it.Now he just buys the blanks from Jantz and adds the handles.His blood pressure is a lot lower now.
