If he is willing to work. My guess he will have all the work he wants and more if he knows a trade.
Every trade contractor in OKC is short people right now. With the Convention Center, the addition to the South side Heart Hospital, the big project at Childrens Hospital, The Capitol project, and the many others around town.
There seems to be plenty of good paying jobs out there; but the problem is that they do require someone willing to actually do the work, right?

Yep and plenty of us old farts that wish we could still fill those jobs. I joke and kid around about the O2, etc but I would love to be able to work again. To make my own living with my own hands.
On a completely different note, you guys notice that as you get older and on more meds, motor boating takes on a whole new meaning when you walk down the hall?
It's true, but here's the problem. If you go that route you'd better be ready to run your own business and have free cash flow so you can look good enough to get bonds. Otherwise, you won't be able to bid the large jobs. The problem with many contractors is that they don't want to run a business, or they suck at it. However, if you have all your ducks in a row, you'll have jobs for days. Big jobs..... because there aren't many guys out there with the insurance and bonding to get these contracts. Hopefully this changes. It needs to.
