I went to the Catoosa WalMart on Tuesday and as usual no one was working the sporting goods section. I checked the ammo prices and honestly didn't see where they were that cheap. Atwoods sells ammo at close to the same price and sometimes have sales. I pretty much buy in bulk online so WM not selling ammo is no big deal. We get our Rx's filled at WalMart which won't change as CVS and Walgreens have now jumped on the anti-gun train. I might start shopping at Academy for ammo but what is their stance on this. I'm guessing most retail stores will adopt the no open carry stance.

I also shop at Reasors for groceries, what's their stance on the 2A?

It is amazing how much things have changed in just the last few years.

looks like CVS and walgreens are following with regards to requesting no open carry.
CVS didn’t say open carry? They said don’t bring firearms into the store...end of the sentence.

It took WAL-MART to start this cascade and its not over ....

Well for one cvs Said “NO FIREARMS” unless you are a LEO. They didn’t add the nuance of “open carry”

Don’t be surprised at anything, the globalist left is the loudest group in any room...this situation will be where we all feared it would be within 5 years sorry but the left is running the show. Buy a lifetime supply of ammo now, of course possessing this quantity it will be illegal soon but you know....nobody is doing anything meaningful to protect our right to keep an bear arms, the NRA should be sued for ever dime and LaPierre should be ousted and all money flow to the NRA should be stopped until he is removed...PERIOD!

from the USA today article i just read, it looks like maybe it's split. CVS no guns, walgreens no open carry?

"The drugstore chains both announced changes to their firearms store policies Thursday, two days after Walmart and Kroger joined the national gun debate.

“We support the efforts of other individuals and groups working to prevent gun violence, and continually review our policies and procedures to ensure our stores remain a safe environment,” CVS said in its statement. “We join a growing chorus of businesses in requesting that our customers, other than authorized law enforcement personnel, do not bring firearms into our stores.”

Walgreens issued a similar statement, asking "customers to no longer openly carry firearms into our stores other than authorized law enforcement officials."

Thanks. It's crazy that these businesses think this type of statement will prevent anything . . .

THAT right there is the thing!

Walmart stopped selling handguns in what, the mid 90's? Didn't prevent anything.
They stopped selling AR-15's in 2015. Didn't prevent anything.
Stopped selling to under 21 year olds last year. Didn't prevent anything.

So. Stop selling certain types of ammunition. THAT will do it! But they say, "Well, we have to do SOMETHING!" Maybe SOMETHING shouldn't be something we already know will not work??

i doubt they really think it will prevent anything beyond them being directly tied to having sold something involved in a shooting. I'm guessing it's more that they gain more from the PR than they risk losing in sales.

I know a lot of folks who take to social media when they see open carry in Kroger or Walmart here. Never mind the people who might be concealed, they don't really think about that because they don't see it. But when they see open carry they sure as **** make a big deal about it and/or leave.

So, for these retailers, asking people to stop open carrying seems like an easy thing to do. It's such a smaller % of the population they aren't risking much, and they come off looking better to those that it bothers.

Fair enough . . . maybe I should've said all of the people clamoring to comment "It's a start" or some stupid virtue signaling comment like that actually think this will prevent something.

I saw a ton of those types of comments on Twitter when CNN or whoever posted the original statement from Wallworld.
