I finally found a use for the Romeo 5 that has been sitting in my safe for a year. I have a 10/22 I put together several years ago as a suppressor host. I’m going to set it up for Rimfire challenge or steel challenge. I swapped the short base on it and zeroed it yesterday. So far I’m happy with it. I’ll give it a workout on some street plates a few days this week. I still like the Aimpoint PROs I’m using on most of my rifles better, but the price point on this one is perfect fir this application.

Well, I just picked up an AR in 300 Blackout from one of the guys I work with. It's a flat top, keymod build, so I gotta put an optic and some MBUS on it.

After watching a ton of video reviews, the Sig Sauer Romeo 5 is looking like a winner.

I'm sure several of you guys own this little red dot. What's the good, bad and ugly about it? Is it worth the scratch? (140 bucks shipped on Amazon) Or is there another out there that's just as good (or better) for less cash?

Remember...I'm a poor ol' broke cop without a lot of moolah, so please don't recommend Aimpoint or EOTech or the like. I just can not afford them.

:thanku:

I was looking at that earlier thanks to dlbleak posting it in another thread. Looks like $8 flat rate shipping. I wonder if they charge OK tax.

This sale is one reason I'm trying to find as much as I can about it before I click BUY.

I'm finding mixed reviews online.
I ended up getting a slightly used Vortex Spitfire 1x prism scope from another member here. I haven't been to the range with it yet but I think I'm going to really like it.
