I prefer not to use the 'herd mentality' on choosing to do or not do, well, anything. If I decide not to shop somewhere, it's my decision and mine alone. I may say that I don't like something, but I'll leave everyone else to make their own determination.

I've got friends that won't watch a movie that has certain actors. I don't give a fly's phart what the actors believe...….I'm paying them to act a part to entertain me. No more, no less. I refuse to let someone that really can't impact my life have so much influence over me. I may be naïve, but I don't really care...….some things really don't matter to me.

Does the right to open carry trump private property rights? Just curious on what the collective thinks.
In the contest of which of the amendments trumps, there is no absolute, but property rights in general are very powerful, which if you think about it in terms of YOUR HOUSE, is a good thing. I reserve the right to set my conditions for access and to ask anyone to leave that violates those conditions. IMHO, you should want that also.

I grew up in KY, which has had unlicensed open carry in the KY Constitution for longer than I have been alive, but there is NO QUESTION that ANY property owner can ask you to leave, and you politely LEAVE.

This is sorta how I see it . . . except I did completely stop shopping at Dick's Sporting Goods though . . . so far, that's the only place I'm pretty firm on no longer giving them any of my business.

I am just thinking out loud, I thought that having a CCW permit was the element of surprise. I have mine and would never open carry. I have been to several training classes an the one that sticks out the most was Pat McNamara when I took his TAPS Class. Need the element of Surprise!

IMHO, a business that ask people not to open carry inside their property is less of a threat to our gun rights (yeah that's right @druryj I said "Muh rights!" [emoji16]) than so called gun people that are against open carry because if gun people don't support our gun rights then there is no chance of keeping them.

@O4L; Now don’t get me wrong big fella, I’m a supporter of muh 2A rights too; and I’m not against open carry. I just don’t do it very often. Maybe on the way to the range like, ya know? But hey, if you wanna open tote; it’s all okay.
