The problem with the ultra wealthy is that they lose touch with the common man. If he really wanted his money to do something great, he should have paid tuitions for kids that who couldn’t pay it for themselves.

He gave over 600+ million to the university over the years. Majority was academics, helping create what is revered as a fantastic engineering and geological programs.

Why would he pay someone’s tuition? How about build a place people want to go and get a quality education and help everyone. Anyone who says they can’t afford a degree is lazy or uneducated. With grants, federal aid, loans, and WORKING its possible. I and so many of my friends are walking examples of this. I applied for every grant and scholarship I could. I went to class everyday and worked 35 hours a week to make rent and be able to eat. Left school with 30k in student loans, paid it off in a few years and I’d do it again in a heartbeat for the opportunities it helped provide. I wasn’t born with a silverspon but I wasn’t going to use that as a crutch to not work my ass off for what I wanted.
